Colton Langer
Founder, designer, and maker. I machine, sand, router, and inspect every piece by hand in our Wisconsin shop, and still work the booth most weekends.
My brother Walker builds alongside me and helps run the markets.
Why I started Loreto Studio
It started in the sawdust
I grew up in my dad's carpentry shop, learning to build things with my hands before I knew it would matter. Years later I became an aerospace engineer, where precision and detail are everything.
Loreto Studio is where those two worlds meet: handcrafted woodwork, built with the same care I bring to flight hardware. No imports, no shortcuts, just intentional gifts made to last.
Here's how it happened
- Growing up
In my dad's carpentry shop, learning to work with my hands.
- 2021
Graduated from Georgia Tech in aerospace engineering and became an aerospace engineer. Precision became second nature.
- Fall 2024
Started Loreto Studio in my small Wisconsin wood shop.
- Spring 2025
Set up at the farmers' markets. Real conversations with real customers.
- Fall 2025
Started making the sourdough bread knives after a baker's complaint at the booth.
- Spring 2026
Brought Loreto Studio online, shipping handmade gifts across the country.
- Now
Whiskey smokers and bread knives, designed and machined by hand, one at a time.
How It's Made
The Heritage Smoker
A few wood chips, a torch, and a glass of your favorite whiskey, that's all it takes. Each smoker is turned and engraved from American hardwood to add rich, smoky aroma to any pour.
Made by hand, built to become the centerpiece of the night.
The Sourdough Bread Knife
Born from a sourdough baker's complaint at our market booth: their knives were crushing the loaves. The fix was an old bow-knife design that tensions a thin blade in a wooden frame, so it glides through crust and crumb without crushing a thing.
Each one is machined and engraved to order from American hardwood.
